Description:

In Status - Standardized, Constantine confronts the final stage of systemic absorption: normalization. Where Status - Sold marks acquisition and Status - Modified reflects assimilation, this work examines what occurs once alteration becomes policy.

The subject’s eyes, transferred and sutured within the trilogy, are no longer disruptive. The intervention has settled into appearance. What was once visibly imposed now reads as ordinary. Standardization completes the cycle: difference is not only absorbed, but recalibrated to align with dominant expectations.

The work references historical and contemporary systems that convert cultural specificity into regulated norm, extracting elements deemed valuable while erasing origin. Standardization presents itself as neutrality, yet it is built upon prior acts of conquest and correction.

Embedded materials and preserved fragments function as documentation. Encased in resin, the composition resists the illusion of seamless integration. The hardware remains visible. The stitching remains exposed.

Status - Standardized asks what happens when systems no longer need to declare ownership or modification when the revised version becomes the default.
